It is a virtuosic solo-guitar piece(instrumental caprice). It starts and ends in A major key but changes to D major in between.It belongs to the romantic era. Technical focus- position shifts, speed, dynamic control(crescendo and decrescendo), tonality(occasional ponticello)
Surf Rider by Gary Ryan: It is an energetic modern classical piece in D major key. It belongs to postmodernist(contemporary) era.Technical focus - percussive strumming using thumb, rhythm, dynamic control(crescendo and decrescendo)
Country Etude by Tatiana Stachak: It is a melodic etude in a folk-inspired style in G major. It belongs to the postmodernist(contemporary) era. Technical focus - hammer-ons and pull-offs, extensive rhythm change(legato, con anima, molto rit), singing pace(cantabile), smooth right hand movement(glissando), dynamic control(crescendo and decrescendo)
It is an Italian Etude in D major. It belongs to the classical era. Technical Focus- Extensive dynamic control(rapid crescendo and decrescendo), melody-accompaniment balance, right-hand p-i-m sliding, musical phrasing.
Adana(Jhaptal) no.4 from Raga Suite by Annette Kruisbrink: It is a fusion of Western classical guitar technique with Indian classical rhythm, raga idioms and melody in C Major in drop D tuning. It belongs to the postmodernist (contemporary) era and is part of a multi-movement suite. "Adana" is a North Indian evening Raga. "Jhaptal" is a 10 beat rhythmic cycle (2+3+2+3). Technical Focus- drop key, ornamentation, right hand percussive (tabla-like) tapping, extensive natural harmonics, glissandi, phrasing, alap-jhaptal form and texture.
