COVID outbreak saw a peak of different video games and long hours of screen time .This completely distracted all the kids from their normal hobbies such as painting, reading books, thus completely hindering their development of creativity. This motivated me to create a different form of hobby that integrates both technology and art.
I wanted to do something creative , so I built a bluetooth controlled robot that can write and draw. I circulated a video of it among my friends which increased their curiosity in the field of robotics, games and art.
SEM-A ART consists of Arduino uno, HC 05 Bluetooth, A 3D printed pen holder (using TINKERCAD), servo motors for controlling the pen and DC gear motors. Communications to move the robot forward and backward are made via the HC-05 module. I used the Arduino IDE for coding which uses C++ programming language. The servo motor is used to rotate the screw attached to the pen that enables the pen to move up and down. The design of the pen holder facilitated the force of friction while moving the pen.
Using this robot, I could actually grab the attention of a lot of my peers towards the field of robotics and coding.
